I have loved science since I was in elementary school. Local university students would visit every week and conduct simple experiments with us. It is incredibly exciting for me to figure out how the world works, from understanding our own biology to what the universe is made of. 

As a graduate student at Gerstner Sloan Kettering, I am now studying the fundamentals of DNA replication and how post-translational modification regulates replication initiation. Specifically, I am interested in how the sumoylation of initiation proteins may prevent inappropriate replication initiation, which can cause cancer and other diseases.

I chose to pursue my PhD at Gerstner Sloan Kettering because of its incredibly supportive environment and research community, including the renowned faculty and my fellow students.
